I don't know. I just know that this week feels as heavy and as scary as I can remember.
My regular plan for a Friday blog is going to be titled "Five Moments." It's mostly going to be about silly and unserious moments in sports and pro wrestling. I'm not writing that blog this week. There's only one terrible moment that matters right now. This week, a federal agent murdered a woman in broad daylight.
The victim's name is Renee Good. Here's a vetted GoFundMe to support her family.
I don't have any other insights. But I do want to share my short list of the people and outlets who, in my view, are rising to this moment and speaking the truth of what is happening.
- WIRED continues to report what is really happening and what people can do.
- Defector is independent and unafraid to speak truth to power. I think anyone with the means and the interest in supporting independent journalism should consider a paid subscription.
- Mobilize has information about events across the country for people to get involved.
- Jamelle Bouie spoke about what needs to be done.
Take care of each other.
